ELECTION TO BE HELD IN NOVEMBER
Born and brought up in Taksali Akali
family and a well known Punjabi in America, Narinderpal Singh Hundal has joined
American politics now. He has joined the Democratic party and declared himself
to be contesting for the Mayor Elections from West Sacramento. On the eighth of
August he presented his papers as the candidate of democratic party for the Mayor elections of west sacramento. For such a
representation, approach of 30 voters is needed. Only American citizens can
vote. Narinderpal Singh Hundal is the first
Punjabi and the first Sikh who is contesting for the mayor elections from West Sacramento. He has already initiated with campaigning for the elections. He was born in villiage Mahilpur in Punjab, but he domiciled in Garhshankar. From the past 30 years he has been living in America. He has studied from missionary college Amritsar. Narinderpal Singh Hundal was made the chief of Shiromani Akali Dal America in 1984, when in the same year Akali Dal was reunited in America. He has shared close ties with Gurcharan Singh Tohra as well. Hundal from past many years is running the business of security agency. From the past four years has also been publishing a Punjabi news paper on weekly basis called Indo-american Times Sacramento. It is also important to mention here that in West Sacramento city there are approx. 16000 voters amongst which Indians or Punjabis are very few in number. West Sacramento city is that city which is adjacent to California’s major city i.e. Sacramento. Sacramento river divides both these cities. The population of West Sacramento is 480000 people approx.
